Sharing Calendars

Every month your child will receive a new calendar to bring home to you.  The purpose of the calendars is for both your child and you to "share" your knowledge.  I would like for your child to complete at least 3 activities a week.  I recommend completing most activities on your child's "off" day from school or on the weekend.  If writing or drawing is involved in the activity, please send it too school in the folder (stapled to the monthly calendar) so that I can see your child's work.  I like to write a little message to each student about their work.

Kindergarten Borrow-A- Book Program

Beginning in October, senior kindergarten students will have the opportunity to take home levelled readers to read with a family member (preferably and adult).  The books will be at an independent or 'easy' level for your child as they are bringing books home to practise good reading skills and to show how well they can read.

In term 2, JK students will begin bringing home readers.  Many students start off with alphabet books and eventually progress to books with simple patterned text.
